Dinch plasticizer in food packaging linked to lower birth weight

A new peer-reviewed study found that Dinch — a plasticizer marketed as a safe alternative to phthalates — is linked to lower birth weight and complications in fetal development that may cause serious health problems later in life. Dinch is widely used in soft food packaging in the US and EU, as well as in children's toys, medical devices, textiles and flooring.
