Product fee for bottles and cans to rise from 1 zł to 5 zł/kg in 2027

From 1 January 2027, the product fee for plastic bottles and metal cans will increase fivefold – from 1 zł to 5 zł per kilogram. The change affects primarily producers and importers who do not join the deposit system – their costs could be even higher. The increase does not automatically mean a rise in deposits charged to consumers at checkout.
