Lublin: new system removes blood clots in pulmonary embolism patients
University Clinical Hospital No. 4 in Lublin has implemented the Penumbra Lightning Flash 2.0 system for treating pulmonary embolism. The device was purchased with funds from the National Recovery Plan. Aspiration thrombectomy involves minimally invasive removal of blood clots using a catheter inserted into the pulmonary arteries — without opening the chest. The first three procedures using the new equipment were successful.
