Okinawa has long been known for the exceptional longevity of its residents, particularly women living into their 90s and 100s. Their diet was not based on expensive supplements but simple foods: sweet potatoes, vegetables, soy, seaweed and small amounts of fish. A key principle was also eating in moderation — never to the point of fullness.
