Real wasabi costs 1500 zł/kg and grows near Radom

The green paste served with sushi in most restaurants is fake — a mixture of horseradish, mustard and food coloring, not authentic Japanese horseradish. A kilogram of real wasabi costs up to 1500 zł, and continental Europe's only wasabi plantation is located near Radom. Genuine wasabi is difficult to grow and requires specific humidity and temperature conditions.
