4.8 million Polish pupils start the 2026/2027 school year, 400,000 for the first time

On 1 September, 4.8 million pupils and 715,000 teachers begin the 2026/2027 school year in Poland. Nearly 400,000 children are starting school for the first time. Students can expect changes to curricula and the organisation of the school year.
