Ultra-processed foods may raise prostate cancer risk by up to 31%
A nationally representative US study of over 17,000 men found that those who consumed more ultra-processed foods — including soft drinks, packaged snacks, cereals and processed meats — had a 24–31% higher risk of prostate cancer, after accounting for age, smoking, race and poverty status. Ultra-processed foods already make up a large share of the average American diet, making the findings a significant public health concern.
