Cutting sugar in the first two years of life protects brain health decades later
Chinese researchers analysed data from the UK's wartime sugar rationing period and found that limiting sugar intake during the first two years of life is linked to better brain health decades later. The findings were published in the journal Neurology. The first two years of life emerged as the critical window — sugar restrictions later in childhood had a smaller effect.
