Regular sleep schedule predicts mortality risk better than sleep duration

A study published in the journal Sleep found that sleep regularity — going to bed and waking at consistent times — is a stronger predictor of mortality risk than total sleep duration. People with irregular sleep patterns face a higher risk of death even if they get enough hours overall. The findings highlight the importance of a stable circadian rhythm for long-term health.
