Muchová becomes top seed in Bad Homburg after Świątek's exit, wins 6-1 6-1
Karolína Muchová became the top-seeded player at the WTA 500 tournament in Bad Homburg following the exits of Iga Świątek and Mirra Andreyeva, and the withdrawal of Elina Svitolina. The Czech player opened her campaign with a dominant 6-1, 6-1 victory over Romania's Irina-Camelia Begu in just 58 minutes. Muchová is now the clear favourite to claim the title.
