KLM to cut 5,000 jobs due to rising costs
Dutch airline KLM has announced the elimination of approximately 5,000 positions, nearly 15 percent of its total workforce. The cuts are driven by rising operational costs — expensive jet fuel and higher airport fees — as well as the need to improve profitability and raise funds for new aircraft purchases. KLM's chief warned that without these cuts, the airline's future is at risk.
