Kitchen salt can extend candle burn time: here's how

To make a candle burn longer, sprinkle table salt on the bottom and sides of the container, then lightly dust it around the wick in the wax. Salt absorbs moisture, acts as a thermal insulator and slows paraffin melting. Before lighting, ensure the wick is about 0.5–1 cm tall and not covered by salt.
