Surgeons with robotic aid remove entire lung in two patients in Lublin hospital
The Educational Center for Surgical Robotics at Lublin's Provincial Specialist Hospital performed two robotic pneumonectomies, surgical removals of an entire lung. The indication was locally advanced cancer disease that made preserving part of the organ impossible. Pneumonectomy is one of the most taxing procedures in chest surgery and carries risk of cardiovascular complications.
