Gold drops below $4,000, posting largest weekly fall in four months
Gold fell to $3,999.43 per ounce on Friday, breaking the psychological $4,000 barrier. The metal posted its largest weekly decline in over four months. Pressure comes from rising oil prices, weakness on Wall Street, and hawkish expectations about the Federal Reserve. The downward trend has persisted since the August peak near $4,700.
