Magnitude 5.5 earthquake strikes Sicily: evacuations and tsunami warning

A series of earthquakes hit Sicily, with the strongest reaching magnitude 5.5. Residents in Palermo and Messina evacuated to the streets, and schools and offices were evacuated. Authorities ordered building inspections and issued a warning of possible tsunami waves off the island's coast.
