Young Europeans protest: shared crisis, different demands, unresponsive governments

Mass protests are taking place in France, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Portugal and Albania, led mainly by young people, against rising cost of living, lack of affordable housing and deteriorating public services. Around 500,000 people took to the streets in France on Saturday. Analysts warn that governments mired in debt and political paralysis lack real answers to protesters' demands, which could intensify discontent in the autumn.
