Cigarette smuggling by weather balloons: three detained
Police from Białystok and Border Guard from Kuźnica detained three men aged 42, 45 and 66 suspected of smuggling Belarusian cigarettes using weather balloons. Two cars contained a total of 120,000 cigarettes without Polish tax stamps, while about 5 kg of tobacco was found in the 42-year-old's apartment. Unpaid customs duties totaled nearly 220,000 PLN. All three were charged with smuggling and customs evasion.
