Study: antibodies may detect Crohn's disease a decade early

Scientists found that patterns of antibodies in blood can signal risk of inflammatory bowel disease — Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis — up to 10 years before symptoms appear. The immune system sends warning signals long before gut damage occurs. The discovery opens the door to earlier diagnosis and potentially even prevention.
