Director of Częstochowa detention facility removed after guard's death

The director of the Detention Center in Częstochowa has been removed from his position — the first personnel decision following the suicide of 34-year-old officer Mariusz Z., who took his own life in September during an inmate transport. The Prison Service officially denies any connection between the removal and that death. The officer's widow filed a complaint with the Prison Service and prosecutors, pointing to irregularities at the facility and claiming her husband was a victim of stalking by the director's secretary.
