MI5 Chief Confirms Russia Tried to Influence Brexit Referendum

Ken McCallum, director of Britain's MI5 counterintelligence service, confirmed that Russia attempted to interfere in the 2016 Brexit referendum through social media and television. However, he stressed this does not mean the Kremlin actually influenced its outcome. McCallum added that further discussion of the matter provides Moscow with unnecessary propaganda gains.
