German inflation rises to 3.3%: energy prices up 15%
Germany's statistics office confirmed that inflation in Germany rose in September to 3.3% — the highest level since the end of 2023. The main driver is an increase in energy prices of nearly 15% year-over-year. Prices excluding energy and food are rising steadily, which may lead the ECB to hold off on a further rate hike.
