US and Russia agree contract for Russian diesel fuel supplies

The US administration said that after telephone talks between the US and Russian presidents, a contract was agreed for supplies of Russian diesel fuel to the American market. The Treasury Department announced temporary lifting of some sanctions on the Russian energy sector to enable these deliveries. The deal is controversial given the approaching elections and US policy toward Russia.
