Lake Constance drying up, losing 568 billion liters of water
Water levels in Lake Constance have dropped to historic lows — in Konstanz they stand at just 248 cm, over a meter below the average for early October. The reservoir is now short about 568 billion liters of water. It is one of Europe's largest lakes and a key drinking water source for millions of people in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
