Gene therapy partially restores sight in blind patients, study confirms
Researchers have confirmed that optogenetic therapy — based on Nobel Prize-winning research — is safe and may partially restore vision to blind people. The method works by turning nerve cells on and off using light. Results were published in the New England Journal of Medicine.
