Oil through Hormuz: 6-7 million barrels daily, ships transit at night without transponders
The Strait of Hormuz now sees 6–7 million barrels of oil pass daily — over 40 percent of pre-war volumes. Most tankers traverse the strait at night with navigation systems disabled to avoid detection. On Wednesday, only 10 vessels passed with transponders on, according to AP reports.
