People with severe mental illness die up to 20 years earlier
New data from Britain shows that people with severe mental illness die up to 20 years sooner than the general population. A large share of these premature deaths stems from physical diseases, including cancers — not just mental health problems. Similar patterns have been observed in other European countries, including Poland.
