Houthis seize Bab al-Mandab strait, fuel shortage threatens Europe
Iran-backed Houthi fighters have taken control of Yemen's Red Sea coast and the Bab al-Mandab strait—the only sea route that bypasses the Strait of Hormuz, blocked by Iran. Closure of both passages could lead not only to fuel price increases at European gas stations but also to actual fuel shortages.
