One of the world's most valuable mushrooms — the pine knight fungus — has appeared in Polish forests. Prices for this rarity reach as much as 8,000 zloty per kilogram. The mushroom season is underway, though weather conditions hamper abundant harvests; forests also yield porcini, ceps, and chanterelles.
