September mushroom season: record numbers of porcini

September brought ideal conditions for mushroom foragers – rain, sun, cooler nights and morning moisture fuel a mushroom glut. Many regions of Poland report exceptionally successful outings, with porcini growing in large quantities. In some areas, however, the situation looks far worse.
