Glowing and reeking of carrion: remarkable fungi in Polish forests
Polish forests are home to fungal species far beyond common porcini or chanterelles — some emit their own light in darkness, others look as though they are "bleeding" or resemble creatures from sci-fi films. However, Prof. Artur Gryszkin from the University of Life Sciences in Wrocław cautions that the fascinating world of fungi also has a dangerous side. Collecting unknown species can be hazardous to health.
