Secondhand smoke killed nearly 1.7 million in 2023

A study published in The Lancet found that over 2.7 billion people, including 767 million children, were exposed to tobacco smoke in 2023, resulting in nearly 1.7 million deaths. Scientists emphasize there is no safe level of exposure to cigarette smoke.
