Herring beats salmon: loads of omega-3 for next to nothing
Herring is a fatty sea fish rich in omega-3 acids, vitamin D and high-quality protein — and costs a fraction of the price of salmon. Poles tend to eat it mainly at holiday time, but it is well suited to everyday meals. Beyond the classic oil-preserved snack, it works well in salads, spreads and sandwiches.
