"Flesh-eating bacteria" warning for tourists at the Baltic Sea

Vibrio vulnificus bacteria, commonly dubbed "flesh-eating bacteria," have been detected in the Baltic Sea, a popular holiday destination for Poles. The bacteria can cause severe skin and soft-tissue infections, especially in people with weakened immune systems or open wounds. Experts warn tourists to exercise caution when swimming in warm, brackish water during periods of high temperatures.
