90–120 minutes of weekly strength training cuts early death risk by 13%
Research shows that people who do strength training for around 90 to 120 minutes per week have a 13% lower risk of dying early, with especially large reductions in deaths from cardiovascular and neurological diseases. Combining strength training with regular aerobic exercise lowered overall death risk by around 45%. Scientists note this volume is achievable in as few as two weekly sessions.
