Heart protection may require 600 minutes of exercise a week, not 150

The standard 150-minute weekly exercise guideline may offer only modest protection against heart attacks and strokes. A large study suggests meaningful cardiovascular benefits begin around 560–610 minutes per week — nearly 9 to 10 hours of brisk walking, running, or cycling. Researchers found the gains from recommended levels were far smaller than previously assumed.
