Heatwave hits 40°C in Poland — caves and mines stay cool year-round at 8–14°C

Poland's meteorological institute issued level-three heat warnings for much of the south and centre of the country, with temperatures potentially reaching 40°C. Natural relief can be found in caves, mines and underground tourist routes, which maintain temperatures of 8–14°C year-round. One standout option is the Guido Mine in Zabrze, 320 metres underground.
