Scientists have found that even minor heart irregularities can cause microscopic brain changes characteristic of early-stage Alzheimer's disease. Poor cardiovascular function negatively affects concentration, memory and cognitive abilities. The risk may appear much earlier than previously thought, suggesting that cardiovascular prevention could be key to protecting brain health.
