Coin dealer donates ~100 Auschwitz letters to museum, refusing 200,000 zloty offer
A Kraków coin dealer came into possession of nearly one hundred letters and postcards written by Jan Nowak, a doctor imprisoned by the Nazis in Auschwitz. He was offered 200,000 zloty for the collection but refused to sell. Instead, he donated the correspondence to the Auschwitz and Majdanek museums, believing it belongs to history rather than private hands.
