ZUS Can Verify Sick Leave Certificates at Employer's Request

An employer who doubts the legitimacy of an employee's sick leave certificate can request that ZUS (Poland's Social Insurance Institution) carry out an inspection. ZUS has the authority to verify whether the certificate was issued in accordance with regulations and the employee's actual health condition.
