Windrush scandal repeat threat: Turks losing residency rights in UK en masse
In the UK, the number of Turkish citizens receiving deportation orders due to errors in rejected applications for permanent residence under ECAA visas — a long-standing residency pathway for those starting businesses — has risen sharply. Foreign Secretary David Lammy and other politicians warn that the Home Office has not learned from the Windrush scandal, in which thousands of legal immigrants were unlawfully deported.
