Parliament passes law 3003: cryptocurrencies subject to domestic sanctions

Parliament approved the sanctions measure law (known as law 3003) by a vote of 240 to 202. The law explicitly classifies crypto assets compliant with the MiCA regulation as frozen assets — cryptocurrency exchanges and exchanges in the EU will have to block funds of clients on the domestic sanctions list, as banks do. The interior minister will maintain the list and could add a person or company to it with immediate effect; concealing frozen assets carries a penalty of 6 months to 8 years imprisonment. The law will go to the Senate and the desk of President Karol Nawrocki.
