21-year-old abandoned 17-year-old on Zugspitze in freezing conditions: she barely survived

A 21-year-old took a 17-year-old acquaintance to watch the sunrise on Zugspitze in the Alps. At 2,500 meters altitude, in deep snow and minus 12°C temperatures, the man unexpectedly turned back, leaving the teenager alone. The girl survived only because she managed to call for help by phone before her battery would have died from the cold — according to Kronen Zeitung.
