Hackers steal 23 TB from Rosstat, reveal Russian losses in Ukraine

The hacker groups Belarusian CyberPartisans and Silent Crow broke into servers of Russian statistical agency Rosstat over the weekend of October 29–November 1, 2026, stealing approximately 23 TB of data, including information on Russian army losses in Ukraine that had been hidden since 2024. Rosstat acknowledged the server breach but denied data exfiltration — contradicting the hackers' claims. The stolen casualty data was posted on Rosstat's own website.
