NBP forecasts 4.2% inflation in 2027 on rising energy costs and ETS 2
Poland's central bank projects inflation will rise to an average of 4.2% in 2027, driven mainly by higher energy and food prices, according to its November forecast. A return to the NBP's inflation target is expected only in 2028. The bank also predicts a slowdown in GDP growth. A significant risk factor is the implementation of the EU's ETS 2 emissions trading system, which could cause a sharp price spike.
