Force majeure leave expires at year's end
Force majeure leave, introduced in 2023, does not carry over to the next year — unused days or hours are forfeited on December 31. This covers 2 days or 16 hours annually for employees on employment contracts in sudden, unforeseen family situations. Unlike vacation leave, employers have no obligation to grant it at a later date.
