UN: Three-quarters of refugees live in climate-threatened zones
The UN refugee agency (UNHCR) reported that nearly 90 million forcibly displaced people — three-quarters of the global total — live in countries particularly exposed to climate hazards. Droughts, floods, and extreme heat make finding lasting solutions for refugees difficult. The report was released ahead of COP31, which will be held in Turkey.
