Government tightens conditions for obtaining Polish citizenship

On 5 November, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration presented a draft amendment to citizenship rules. The changes include extending the required period of legal residence in Poland and new requirements for Polish language proficiency, knowledge of Polish realities, and respect for applicable law. The government argues that citizenship should confirm a foreigner's genuine connection to Poland and their actual commitment to the country's future.
