Ryanair warns of double-digit ticket price rises in 2027
Ryanair CEO Michael O'Leary has warned that passengers across European airlines must prepare for double-digit ticket price increases in 2027. A 15 percent rise in fuel costs cut the airline's gross profit by 16 percent to €2.4 billion in the first half of the year. Ryanair estimates fuel expenses will rise by €2 billion; the average ticket price of €40–45 could increase by as much as 20 percent. Management is also considering a wage freeze after collective agreements expire in April.
