AMD breaks revenue record at 13.4 billion dollars and could surpass Intel
AMD reported record revenue in the third quarter of 13.4 billion dollars — a 45 percent increase year-over-year. The data center segment grew 97 percent, while the gaming division declined sharply. CFO Jean Hu forecast fourth-quarter revenue of around 17 billion dollars, representing a 66 percent year-over-year increase. If projections hold, AMD would for the first time in its history surpass Intel in quarterly revenue.
