WHO: Cholera epidemic in Congo kills nearly 1,800, worst in decades

The World Health Organization reported approximately 1,800 deaths from cholera in the Democratic Republic of Congo. WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus described the epidemic as the worst in decades. Experts fear the disease could spread to the capital, Kinshasa. The situation is complicated by a parallel dangerous epidemic the DRC is currently facing.
